Incumbent at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) since the start of 2018, this was an opportunity for Mr Ellis to understand more about the world-class teaching and research that takes place at Roehampton, and the contribution that dance education makes to society.

Following a meeting with Vice-Chancellor Professor Paul O'Prey CBE and members of the Department of Dance, the Minister took the opportunity to have a tour of the facilities in the Davies building. Led by the Head of Department, Professor Ann David, the tour included visits to dance performance classes, allowing the Minister to see the Department's outstanding students in action. The Minister also had the chance to speak with a number of staff and students.

As one of the largest dance departments worldwide, the Roehampton Department of Dance offers a huge breadth of expertise and covers a rich variety of technical and performance styles, approaches to choreography and dance analysis. Our courses integrate dance practice with theory to develop well-rounded artists
