Beverly Naya has won ‘Best Documentary’ at African Magic Viewers Choice Awards

Beverly Naya, a multi-award winning actress who studied film at Roehampton won the award for Best Documentary for her work on ‘Skin’ at the ceremony on 14 March.

The London born actress who now lives in Nigeria stars in ‘Skin’, a documentary that focuses on beauty standards in Lagos, exploring the pressure to conform and how colorism and skin bleaching shapes the face of the entertainment industry in Africa, from an African perspective.

The African Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards is an annual awards ceremony that recognises outstanding achievement in television and film, and is broadcast in more than 50 countries.
