These new partnerships allow students on translation courses to gain experience of multiple translation and workflow platforms used by the industry, from film subtitling to banking and gaming, ensuring that students start their career as highly qualified and versatile graduates.

The software will be used on the MA in Audiovisual Translation (Professional Skills for Translators Module) as well as for the brand new extracurricular Professional Courses for Translators. CaptionHub and Dotsub provide a proprietary cloud based subtitling environment for the management, captioning and subtitling phases of the localisation process.

Dr Serenalla Massidda, lecturer in translation studies says ‘This is an exciting development for our students who will greatly benefit from using, testing and evaluating the companies’ web-based tools available to them in creating and translating subtitles in their applications. We constantly strive to offer our students the widest opportunities to enhance and support their transferable skills and future employability.’
