University appoints new Head of Drama, Theatre and Performance

Professor Graham White has been appointed as the new Head of Drama, Theatre and Performance, taking over from Professor Jennifer Parker-Starbuck in January.

Professor White has been at Roehampton for a number of years and is a playwright, researcher and lecturer, with interests in playwriting practices, modern drama and cultural history and performance in the law. He has had a number of plays broadcast on the BBC, and his adaptation for Radio 3 of BS Johnson's 1960s experimental novel The Unfortunates won a BBC Audio Drama Award for Innovation.

Anna Gough-Yates, Deputy Provost Academic Development, has congratulated Professor White saying, ‘The Department of Drama, Theatre and Performance is renowned for its cutting-edge performance practice and critical theory. Professor White has a wealth of experience both at Roehampton and as a playwright and will continue to ensure the success of the department’.
