People Show 140: WakeEatWatchSleepRepeat featuring University of Roehampton Drama students premieres on YouTube on Friday 3 July at 6pm.

Formed in 1966, People Show are acknowledged as the UK’s longest running alternative theatre company. Over the past 50 years People Show have created performances in theatres, fields, telephone boxes, streets and even on water.

People Show 140: WakeEatWatchSleepRepeat is the tenth production that the company has devised alongside final year Drama students from the University of Roehampton. In previous years their venues have included Putney Library, Battersea Park, The Horniman Museum, The Cinema Museum and Ram Brewery. Now in 2020, facing a new creative challenge, they’re bringing the show online.

People Show 140: WakeEatWatchSleepRepeat explores an hour in lockdown, experienced by 34 individuals. Roehampton Drama students filmed from around the world, including Spain, Italy, Norway, Sweden and Hong Kong. Technology allowed for new ways of being together, with video conferencing used for rehearsal and group performance.
