Business School hosts free 'net zero' workshop for local businesses

Roehampton Business School hosted a free on-campus workshop on 12 May, led by Better Futures+ and Business Doctors, for professionals looking to learn about subscription models for their products and services.

Professor Sunitha Narendran, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Law, warmly welcomed attendees joining the Circular Economy Workshop called ‘From product sale to product availability.’

The workshop was aimed at businesses interested in making the transition to carbon net zero and helped firms understand the benefits and technicalities of switching to subscription and rental business models for products and services.

Professionals from a variety of fields such as hospitality, leisure, and tourism industries, as well as technology, corporate coaching, fashion, and digital marketing, were among those in attendance.

Professor Stephen Drinkwater, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Business and Law and Director of the Research Centre for Sustainable and Responsible Management, shared some of the research being undertaken at the University, as well as possibilities to participate in future Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs).

Head of Graduate Employability for the Faculty of Business of Business and Law, Laura Scanga, said: “At the Business School our aim is to deliver business impact by connecting local businesses to our research and our students – paving the way for collaborative projects.”

Those who attended the event at Grove House left with a better understanding of different pricing structures, how to calculate the monthly recurring revenue, customer acquisition expenses, subscriber lifetime value and the necessity of reducing customer turnover.
