Postgraduate and undergraduate students from across the Business School and Law School came together to hear from alumni, employers, and professional membership organisations.

The event kicked off with a welcome address from the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Sunitha Narendran, and Chair of the University Council, Phil Walker.

The morning consisted of a series of informative and inspiring sessions including an alumni and student panel, a student employer panel, and a professional body panel. Finally, there was an opportunity to hear about funding opportunities for budding entrepreneurs with The Princes' Trust.

An afternoon networking fair provided students with a chance to gain networking skills and make career contacts. Seven professional bodies attended including CIMA, APM, CIM, CIPD, CMI, CILEX, and Lincoln’s Inn. There were also representatives from Richmond and Wandsworth Business Hub.

Employers present included Crew Energy, SAP, Caremark, Adobe, Enterprise, and Workmatch - an agency representing local employers.

Head of Graduate Employability for the Faculty and organiser of the event, Laura Scanga said: “We achieved an excellent result with 75% attendance following registrations. And, that meant with 324 people in the room we estimate there were over 2000 network connections made on the day.”

Feedback gathered after the event showed that 76% of those who attended said they were potentially thinking of setting up their own business, 97% were interested in undertaking an internship, and 86% were confident that their studies fitted with their future plans.
