The Lifetime Achievement Awards (LAAs) are made annually to one or more individuals. The contributions are made through research, teaching or public service. The award is only given to someone who has spent a substantial amount of time in their academic careers within a higher education institute within the UK. This year all the recipients of the BAFA award were women.

Professor Elaine Harris has over 30 years of experience in higher education and has been a Professor of Accounting and Management at Roehampton since 2010. She currently leads the PhD programme in the Business School and leads a research team on strategic investment decision making. Elaine is also Associate Editor of the British Accounting Review, leader for the Conference of Professors of Accounting and Finance (CPAF) research mentoring scheme, and Chair of the Management Control Association.
