Mark Richardson has been appointed the new Director of Roehampton Business School, following the departure of Professor Sharon Mavin.

Mr Richardson joins Roehampton from the University of Worcester where, as Deputy Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic Portfolio) and Head of the Business School, he was pivotal in creating relationships with major commercial clients such as Hitachi Capital, G4S and Malvern Instruments, and in enhancing opportunities for students to access placements, internships and other practical opportunities to gain business skills.

Prior to joining the University of Worcester, he worked at the University of Central England (now Birmingham City University) for 9 years and Bass PLC for 7 years. Since 2007 he has been a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and since 2008, a member of the Institute of Directors.

Professor Anna Gough-Yates, Deputy Provost for Academic Development at Roehampton, said ‘I am pleased to announce that Mark will be joining the University as the new Director of Roehampton Business School. It's an exciting time for the School as we begin the process of reviewing our postgraduate offering, and look to build upon our professional accreditations. Mark will be able to lead the School by developing its portfolio further, and by continuing to enhance our offering of high quality education for all students’.

Roehampton Business School develops ‘business ready’ graduates, equipped with the knowledge and critical insight to make informed decisions, solve business problems ethically and become the kind of graduates who can add value to organisations and society. The School has links with employers including Marks and Spencer, Haymarket Media Ltd, Santander and KPMG.

Roehampton's business programmes are accredited by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Mr Richardson will join the Roehampton academic team on 1 November 2017.
