The National Student Survey (NSS) is the national survey of student satisfaction, completed by final year students on degree programmes. The survey asks students 26 questions in 8 categories, including their opinion on student voice and feedback, academic support and teaching.

In the NSS 2019, Roehampton Law School’s LLB in Law had:

  • 93% of students expressing satisfaction on the course.
  • 92% of the students satisfied with teaching.
  • 93% satisfaction with academic support - making it number one in the sector for Law.

Dr Giles Proctor, Head of Roehampton Law School, said “This is a great testament to the wonderful colleagues we have in the Law School and across the University who have supported our students in our unique ‘law in practice’ environment. In this environment, we help students to gain the skills they need to succeed in their chosen legal careers.”

The ‘law in practice’ teaching methods at the Law School are designed to help students think critically like legal professionals. Students gain an extensive knowledge of the legal system and make use of Roehampton’s London location. Law students are taught by dedicated tutors, many with extensive experience in practicing law and are supported by a specialised Law School Careers Adviser. Students also have opportunities for work placements in London and with the Citizens’ Advice Bureau at its headquarters in Wandsworth. Later this year, RLS is launching a new Law Clinic to serve the local community.

Sophie Beaumont a second year student said “Studying law at Roehampton was the best decision I ever made. Learning is more tailored towards the individual and you can actually get to know all of your lecturers well.

I completed work-experience in a legal department during the summer. This was great as it gave me a first-hand experience into what it is like to practice law.”

Roehampton Law School (RLS) officially launched in 2015 and is building an excellent reputation.  Find out more about the undergraduate and postgraduate courses on offer here.
