Third year students on Roehampton's BA Primary Education (QTS) degree had an extra reason to celebrate gaining their teaching qualification this year, as they're finishing their training exactly 100 years after the first students trained at Grove House in 1922.  Although Froebel College was founded in 1892, it didn't move to its current home until 30 years later, when it was converted from a grand private house to the teaching college it remains today.

The class of 2022 is pictured, left, on the Grove House lawns with Programme Convenor, Anthony Barlow.

Thanks to its collegiate constitution, Roehampton's heritage in training women teachers is longer than any other provider in the UK. Pre-dating this Froebel College centenary by some 80 years, Whitelands College has been training young women to be teachers since 1841, having its original premises on the King's Road, Chelsea.
