£45,000 British Council grant awarded to Department of Life Sciences

Professor Anne Robertson from the Department of Life Sciences has been awarded a £45,000 grant to host an ecology workshop on Freshwater Ecosystem Services.

The workshop entitled ‘How, and why, do ecosystems services differ within and between temperate and sub-tropical freshwater systems?’ will take place in Brazil in January 2019. It will provide an opportunity for early career researchers to meet and share knowledge and research in the services that freshwater sources offer. The grant has been awarded jointly with Dr Muricio Petrucio at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil.

Professor Anne Robertson is a professor of Ecology at the University of Roehampton.

The workshop is part of a programme ‘British Council Researcher Links’ provides opportunities for early career researchers from the UK and international to interact, learn from each other and explore opportunities for building long-lasting research collaborations.

Staff in the Department of Life Sciences undertake world-class research which changes lives and furthers our understanding of science. It offers an undergraduate course in Biological Sciences and Zoology alongside a range of other undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.
