In her career Kim has worked in a variety of roles including Practice Nurse, Community Matron and Nurse Practitioner, across acute hospital care, general practice and community settings. She has also spent many years supporting and assessing student nurses, as well as guest lecturing in universities. In this time, Kim was awarded the title of Queens Nurse in 2015 and obtained the Royal College of Nursing Advanced Level Nursing Practice Credential in 2018.

Having developed a strong interest in nurse education, Kim was excited to hear about the Adult Nursing degree programme at Roehampton as it has a strong focus on community and primary care, which is where the majority of nursing practice takes place. Kim has said she is “excited to be involved with the development of a programme that really reflects the needs of future nurses”.

Kim looks forward to working within Nurse Education at Roehampton and being part of a team that is passionate and motivated in providing inclusive and innovative learning opportunities for students, giving them a strong foundation of clinical skills to aid in their careers as newly qualified nurses.
For individuals considering a degree in nursing, Kim has added “nursing is a most diverse and rewarding career and there are opportunities to work in a myriad of different settings and develop skills and knowledge to work in any specialty. You will have the opportunity to make a difference to someone’s life on a daily basis.”

The University of Roehampton offers an MSci in Adult and Mental Health Nursing, a BSc in Adult Nursing and a BSc in Mental Health Nursing.
