The University of Roehampton and Croydon College have expanded their strategic partnership further by launching an undergraduate degree in Children's Nursing, building on the introduction of Adult Nursing in 2021.

Students enrolling on the new course will be taught in the £1 million clinical simulation centre and will, on graduating, help support the healthcare needs of children and their families across south London and beyond.

The new course has a distinctive focus on community and primary care nursing, which will provide new graduates with the ability to work in a huge range of healthcare settings across the NHS and beyond, from community nursing teams, to hospitals and GP surgeries. The course will be delivered in partnership between Roehampton and Croydon College.

Paul Newcombe, Director of Nurse Education at the University of Roehampton said: “This course, with its unique focus, will equip a new generation of healthcare professionals to support the physical and mental health needs of children and their families. Graduates from this programme will help address the workforce needs of local healthcare providers”.

Fadia Clark, Vice Principal of Croydon College said: “I’m delighted to be working with colleagues to bring Children’s Nursing education to Croydon. Our borough has a diverse range of health care needs, and this course will help us continue to fulfil our mission of educating individuals equipped to address those needs.”

Liam Hurley, Director of Strategy and External Relations said: “This marks a further milestone in the flourishing strategic partnership between our two organisations, which has confirmed the status of both the University of Roehampton and Croydon College as leading providers of health education in London”.
