Roehampton awarded £100,000 to fund new mental health nursing courses

The grant from the Strategic Support Fund will go towards the new BSc and MSci mental health nursing courses
The University of Roehampton has received £100,000 to fund the establishment of its two new nursing courses: BSc Mental Health Nursing and MSci Adult and Mental Health Nursing.
The money was granted by the Strategic Support Fund, which was created to encourage the establishment of new courses for healthcare professions prioritised in the NHS Long Term Plan and People Plan, by funding the associated education infrastructure.
A large number of applications were reviewed by Health Education England's National Panel and Board, and Roehampton was successful in applying for the full amount of £100,000 to be awarded to the University.
The two new courses, both with a mental health focus, will complement Roehampton's existing BSc Adult Nursing, which launched in September 2019. The courses are designed to teach you about the nursing profession and about the shift towards integrated care in the community as part of the NHS Long Term Plan. Roehampton's nursing education takes place in our new clinical simulation centre, in classrooms on our parkland campus and throughout London in clinical placements with our practice partners.
