School of Life and Health Sciences to take part in Pint of Science Festival

Fourteen speakers from Roehampton will take part in the worldwide Pint of Science Festival, which brings researchers to local pubs, cafes and spaces to share their scientific discoveries.

From May 9 – 11, lecturers and PhD students from the University of Roehampton will speak on a range of topics, from the fields of anthropology, nutrition, micro-biology, biomechanics and more.
Events will be taking place across 33 towns and cities in the UK, with Roehampton staff and students speaking at The Coat & Badge, Putney, and The Duke’s Head, Putney.
The Coat & Badge, Putney:
- May 9: No guts, no glory: Inside the gut and its emanations, with Dr Volker Behrends and Professor Kirsten Bell
- May 10: We are made of molecules! With Dr Maria Teresa Esposito and Dr Adele Costabile
- May 11: What determines clinical outcomes in chronic illness? With Dr Robert Busch and Jodie Hughes
The Duke’s Head, Putney:
- May 9: Moving better without moving at all - mental rehearsal in sport and rehabilitation, with Dr Adam Bruton, Adam Khan, Ashika Chembila Valappil and Sam Chye
- May 10: How you move your body and what happens when things go wrong, with Dr Siobhan Strike and Dr Ceri Diss
- May 11: Can't stand the heat? Get out of the saddle (or adapt!), with Dr Steven Trangmar and Dr Chris Tyler
