Following the successful launch of our BSc Adult Nursing in 2019, with its focus on community nursing, these new programmes will continue to teach our students to deliver excellent care in the community. This will allow our graduates to support the mental health and wellbeing of others and provide outstanding care within a wide range of services.

Our new students have begun their studies on these innovative new programmes, and will be learning on a variety of placements, as well online and on campus in our new Clinical Simulation Suite (CSC), opened last year.
The commencement of these programmes follows the appointment of several new members of the Nursing Education team, including Heather Matora-Muzengi and Sebastian Birch, who both join as Senior Lecturers in Mental Health Nursing, bringing with them a wealth of experience in delivering exemplary care.

Paul Newcombe, Head of Nurse Education said “We are really excited to be building on the successes of 2019 and adding Mental Health Nursing to our portfolio. We look forward to working with our local healthcare partners, service user and carers as we support our students on their journey towards joining the nursing workforce”

You can hear from members of our Nursing Education team and new students here.
