Mobalytics becomes performance partner of Roehampton’s esports programme

The partnership will allow Roehampton esports players the opportunity to access Mobalytics technology to analyse their game performance.
Roehampton coaches and players will use the Mobalytics platform to gain in-depth data and get feedback on their performance. After-match analysis allows players to see the areas in which they can improve their performance and areas where they performed better than their competitors. Gold, damage, objectives and rank tracking allows players to fully understand their games and improve on a game-by-game basis.
Mobalytics will also help improve Roehampton’s scouting and screening process for new scholarship applicants by tracking the rank of prospective scholarship recipients in previous seasons and their performance in the current season. This information will help to build and develop stronger and better teams to compete in student tournaments.
Throughout the next season Roehampton Esports will produce a series of videos following the Roehampton Origins progress in student competitions and how the partnership has helped them improve.
Mobalytics is a leading improvement platform in the gaming space, providing a wide suite of analytics-based tools used by professionals and everyday gamers alike. In the past few years, they have helped build rosters and scout opponents for teams like Golden Guardians and Team Liquid, the winners of League Championship Series 2020 Summer season.
Roehampton Origins, the University’s League of Legends team, reached the National Student Esports finals in 2019 and the Planet 9 invitational tournament finals in 2020. The team, comprised of recipients of the esports scholarships, are aiming to become the best university League of Legends team in the UK.
Roehampton is the first university in the United Kingdom to offer esports scholarships. The scholarships, which are worth up to £1,500 a year, are open to both undergraduate and postgraduates studying on any programme. In 2020 Roehampton introduced the Women in Esports Scholarship, the first of its kind in Europe.
The Roehampton Esports Arena, featuring 20 gaming PCs, a content creation room, and a livestreaming setup, is the perfect place for esports enthusiasts. The space is powered by Zowie and is equipped with 240hz monitors, lightweight mice, and optical keyboards. The Arena is reserved for esports players to ensure these students have the best possible facilities to train and compete in.
