Jade Cavanagh, who studies Criminology at Roehampton, was selected by a team of leading industry judges to join the programme. The scheme, delivered in partnership with National Student Esports (NSE), is designed to nurture the best esports talent at UK universities.

It offers students the chance to connect with industry leaders and gain knowledge skills, building on their existing academic talents and skills in the field of esports. Those completing the scheme will also have assistance in developing their career paths in the esports and gaming industries.

This follows from Roehampton alumni Julia Cwierz joining the elite scheme in 2020. Julia is a graduate in LLB Law, and was also the first recipient of Roehampton’s Esports Scholarship, the first of its kind in the UK.

Roehampton is one of the leading universities for esports, with a highly active student society, a high-end Esports Arena and is home to the UK's first Esports Scholarship and Europe’s first Women in Esports Scholarship. Recipients of these scholarships, and other members of the Esports Society, have access to training and support, including in wider content creation.
