Introduction

Our Summer School this year provides participants with an intensive five session experiential class, and involves direct experiential learning about the MA Art Psychotherapy Programme at the University of Roehampton.

An electronic certificate will be emailed on successful course completion.

Course Structure

The Art Psychotherapy summer school provides participants with an opportunity to engage in a deep and intensive exploration of the art therapeutic process over five consecutive days of experiential work.

Participants will be invited to engage in a range of art making processes to explore their own personal symbols and unconscious imagery in a safe and creatively facilitating environment.

Notions of shared or collective experience will be explored along with how Jungian theory may inform art making and the art therapeutic relationship.

Intended Audience

This course may be of interest to anyone wishing to find out more about training in this discipline as well as individuals wanting to explore their creativity in a unique environment.

It may also be useful for mental health professionals, teachers and social workers etc. interested in learning more about these unique and creative forms of therapy.

A degree of active participation will be expected from all participants who should therefore be prepared for a degree of personal disclosure, sharing and exploration
