Prof. Paul Allen discusses research with CNBC

Professor Paul Allen, Director of Roehampton’s Centre for Research in Psychological Wellbeing (CREW), has discussed research on using functional MRI scanning to track how worry affects parts of the brain that are important for concentration, in an article for CNBC.

The article examines why individuals may struggle to focus on work following the Christmas break. Prof. Allen, who led the 2018 study, explains how the brain’s prefrontal cortex “is key to our ability to focus and in highly anxious people, this area was found to act differently”.
