The national training pilot will support the NHS to expand access to a range of quality, evidence-based psychological therapies, as part of a wider programme to offer these interventions to an additional 380,000 adults with common mental health problems, as set out in the NHS Long Term Plan.

It is an exclusive opportunity for one cohort of only 20 students to be trained in the practical application of psychotherapeutic counselling to deliver brief Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT) in NHS IAPT services.

Dr Yannis Fronimos, Dean of our School of Psychology, said: “We are very proud that the School of Psychology at Roehampton is pioneering with this new programme in collaboration with HEE and IAPT services across England.”
