The fair included two alumni speakers, Esra Hassan and Chanelle Gray, who shared their career experiences and insights with students. Esra Hassan graduated with a BSc Psychology in 2017 and an MSc Clinical Neuroscience in 2018 and is now a PhD student at Brighton & Sussex Medical School, whose research aims to tackle stigma around Dementia. Chanelle Gray graduated with a BSc Psychology and Counselling in 2009 and is now the Director of Diversity and Inclusion at Savills. They spoke about the pathways into their industries and the qualities needed to work in their fields.

Following the alumni speakers, the careers fair provided students with the opportunity to connect with professionals from a range of industries, including Mind, Ambitious about Autism, The Priory Group and Active Care Group. Students were able to speak directly to employers and learn about the different types of graduate positions available within each.

Dr Kaz Brandt, Head of Year 3 and Employability Lead in the School of Psychology said: “This is the second year that I have organised the Psychology Careers Fair and this year we had a greater and more diverse range of employers and it was wonderful to see the excitement the fair generated in students and employers. As Employability Lead, this is my favourite event of the year, showcasing just how varied a career path our final year students can take with a Psychology degree!”

Our Psychology degrees provide our students with the skills and knowledge they need to achieve their career ambitions.
